Yogabay Case Study
Branding & logo design
Project Overview
Yogabay was created for Martina, a yoga instructor who wanted to stand out in a very saturated and visually predictable market.
While most competitors chose neutral beige palettes and minimal, almost identical aesthetics, Martina was ready for something different, something more colorful, more expressive, yet still grounded in the calming essence of yoga.
The Challenge

The challenge wasn’t whether we should go bold.
The real question was: how bold is too bold for a yoga brand?
Exploring the Color Direction
To find the right balance, I created five different moodboards — each one gradually increasing in vibrancy and contrast.

Our Approach
Brand Strategy and Moodboard

Instead of jumping straight into design decisions, we visually explored the spectrum between:
-
Soft & safe
-
Fresh & modern
-
Vibrant & energetic

Martina chose the second color direction: a palette that feels fresh and lively, yet still calming and harmonious.
For typography, she fell in love with the typeface shown in the third moodboard: elegant, confident, and slightly playful without losing sophistication.
That combination became the foundation of the brand.
Logo Design
With the name Yogabay, we had a lot of creative territory to explore.
We experimented with nearly everything that could connect to the idea of a “bay” while still aligning with yoga:
-
Waves
-
Coconuts
-
Shells and turtles
-
Palm trees
-
Organic curves
-
Flamingos
The goal was not just to create something pretty but something meaningful and distinctive.(There’s also a short video showcasing the logo concept explorations.)

The Final Logo
The final logo turned into something truly special.
A subtle yoga figure emerges from the form and the legs of the pose transform into palm leaves.
It’s calm yet dynamic.
Tropical yet grounded.
Unique without feeling forced.
The result feels like movement, nature, and serenity blending into one symbol.
It’s bold enough to stand apart from beige competitors yet soft enough to remain unmistakably “yoga”.

Outcomes & Impact
Why This Project Is Special to Me
This is one of my favorite projects to date.
Not just because of the final logo, but because of the process.
We dared to step slightly outside the safe zone of the industry.
We tested, explored, refined, and trusted intuition.
And the result?
A brand that feels alive.
